IMAXBELOV START A PROJECT

RESEARCH NOTE / 10 · AUGUST 2026

Evidence before claims.

A premium service website does not need invented scale, anonymous logos or unverified metrics to feel credible. It needs information a serious client can inspect.

The credibility problem

When a new studio wants to appear established, it is tempting to borrow the surface signals of a larger firm: client logos, outcome numbers, team size, global language or unnamed “case studies.” If the supporting evidence is absent, these signals do not create trust. They create a future liability.

Credibility is not an aesthetic. It is the relationship between what a page says and what a visitor can reasonably verify.

Four kinds of evidence

  • Authored work: a real project, study or prototype accurately labelled by its status and contribution.
  • Process evidence: the actual way a problem was examined, decisions were made and work was checked.
  • Source evidence: public references, research registers and primary documents tied to the claim they support.
  • Boundary evidence: clear statements about what was not measured, promised or within the studio’s control.

Label the work accurately

A concept is not a client project. A redesign study is not a launched result. A public-interface observation is not an endorsement or performance comparison. The label should be as visible as the image, not hidden in small type.

Accurate labels do not weaken the work. They let the right client understand the kind of thinking and craft they are evaluating.

Use numbers carefully

Numbers are powerful because they look precise. That is exactly why they must be attributable. A percentage, ranking, revenue figure, traffic count or time claim should have a defined source, period, method and scope. If it cannot be supported, do not publish it.

For SEO in particular, avoid promising positions, traffic or leads. Show the quality of the site system and the work completed instead.

A more useful portfolio structure

  • State the client, project type and role only when permission and accuracy allow it.
  • Show the specific design or engineering problem, not a vague transformation story.
  • Separate source material, concept work and implemented work.
  • Describe the deliverable and verification performed.
  • Use a clear call to action for a prospective client with a different but related problem.

The long-term advantage

Honest evidence compounds. It gives a studio a public record of thinking, revision and capability. It also makes future case studies easier: when real outcomes are available and permission is granted, they can be added to an existing practice of accuracy rather than used as decorative proof.
